The Ideal School

Yestarday we ware talking about School and Beyond. About new school and old school.
in groups we read a "article" wrote by Yoon-Hee Pak (Seoul, Korea) and Gordon Pickering (Canberra, Australia). They have differents points of view about the education. For Pickering the education is better when there are memorization focus, we learn more when we momorize more. For Yoon-Hee, the important is the experience, because this will develop a critical thinking in the students.
In fact I agree with Yoon-Hee and in parts with Pickering, I think the memorization and experience should walk together.
In that article, Yoon-Hee talk about how important it is, "learning by doing". The students have the opportunit to develop practical skills ans to apply what we have leraned in books.

So...for today it is all.
Have a nice day.
Bye

Hi Erick. Good post. I agree with you that developing one's memory is important, but that experience is important as well.

I loved this line in your post: 'memorization and experience should walk together.' It's absolutely poetic.

Great to have you in the class. Keep writing!
